After reading these articles about game elements I got a much deeper insight into a lot of different processes that have to happen in order to make a game and also discussions to have to happen in order to make a game. I found a lot of things interesting firstly prototyping. I didn't realise that it is much better to head onto the prototyping and making of the game and not spend too much time on the iteration and thinking of the game because from what I learned the faster you get into prototyping the better your overall game will be. I also was very interested by what prototyping actually means when it comes to gaming that it means things like what is the main goal and what does the player get to do what is the surrounding scenery look what feeling should the game provoke and more. I also found it very interesting how in prototyping you can also do it physically like for example cutting out paper and testing it out that way or trying to play the game in real life to test what its like. So with prototyping you're not only starting your project and getting things done but you're also further developing your ideas which can very much help in the end product of your game as lots more ideas can blossom during this process. Another thing I found interesting while reading was the general conversation and discussions and language around games and how they are not up to the standard of other professions. Like with athletes and doctors they know general words and efficient ways of easily discussing, critically thinking and analysing their chosen field but with gaming it generally comes down to is a fun or is it not fun but if you're going to be a good designer you have to go deeper. And that going deeper with this conversation would allow designers to discuss underlying components of a game. I learned one specific thing that could be talked about in game conversations could be tools and a way to do that is to take a good game and describe concretely things are working it and then from them examples attempt to formalise key aspects. Overall with my readings I got a great insight into more processes of game creation and also a great look into discussing games.
